Alpha Man is almost off the grid.
Tall and wiry,
his frame has seen several decades of training,
cross-country skiing, hiking the high peaks,
and on his performance bicycle
propped up on the red stand in the great room.
He spends most of his time in the woodshop,
where he now turns a bowl from hardwoods.
Tonight, he will consider the evolution of SpaceX satellites
spinning in their precise orbit
as three female deer devour the clover outside his door.
As he questions the herd mind
within his self-sustained orbit.
Straddled on the leading edge with Elon,
wheels racing up the mountain road.
